Warning: Boring Summary of Activities Lies Ahead
Wanted to give a quick update of where I've been and what I've been doing. I have some nice pictures of my latest travel, but no USB cord to upload them with right now. So it will have to wait.
So we left off in China. I spent a day and a night in Hong Kong. I didn't really spend enough time in Hong Kong to get a really good feel for it, but still had some fun. Had British high-tea at the Peninsula Hotel, which was just amazing. The best pastries I've had in my life PERIOD. With live classical music playing in the background, and gigantic chandeliers set against gothic carved wall sconces, it was a big taste of Britain in HK. Very expensive though. The Peninsula is consistently ranked in the top three hotels in the world, and there's a reason.
Also went to a night market in Hong Kong. I've been to many night-markets well in Asia, and I've come to notice that the items they offer cater to two crowds: the locals and the tourists. In that case, who is to blame for the molded plastic penis, breast, and nose squeeze-its with "white goo" shooting action I found in this night market? For Hong Kong's sake, I hope it's the tourists.
After that I went to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia for five days. Spent most of my time working, but explored the city some. The twin towers of KL dominate the cityscape, and you could see them quite wonderfully out my hotel window. Also went to the "Baht Cave" a huge cavern that's home to a famous Hindu shrine. And lots of monkeys. Took pictures, gee wouldn't be great to post them?
I am now in Langkawi island. Langkawi is a tropical island on the northwest part of Malaysia. It's tropical paradise. Really. Wow. I've been relaxing for the last two days, riding motorbikes around and exploring the island, kayaking in the Indian Ocean, visiting the local sites.
Apologize for such a dull post, hope to liven things up later. But you do realize you're cutting into my vacation time, right?
