Lost: 37 homes, 116 barns, 161 vehicles, and $10 million dollars. Found:
Cause of 56,000 acre wildfire (Memory Hole). A Narcotics helicopter was the cause of a wild-fire that took 2,700 firefighters to extinguish, destroying homes, automobiles, and lives. Apparently the helicopter was scoping for weed. Props to the war on drugs.
"George Bush (Sr -- Ian) says 'we are losing the war on drugs'. Well you know what that implies? There's a war going on, and people on drugs are winning it! Well what does that tell you about drugs? Some smart, creative motherfuckers on that side". -- Bill Hicks
Addiction is defined medically as continued use in the face of adverse consequences. With a $10 million dollar consequence, and no sign of the war on drugs stopping, I see an eerie parallel between the war on drugs and the drug addiction it seeks to stop.
