Jucee is a young non-profit that facilities exchange between pacific rim non-profit orgs. Like the
Chuck Woolery of NGOs, they hook up the love connection. I've applied to be an English conversation partner for Japanese who are going to be interning at an NGO in the states.
I like the idea of supporting people who want to make proactive change in the world. While part of me tends to be distrustful of NGOs (bureaucracy), I think investing in people is a great thing! And I like that Jucee seems to have a pretty broad focus, they match applicants with over 100 organizations. It's important that exchange activists find an organization that's truly appropriate for them. If Jucee was tied down to one or two NGOs, and so tied to a limited ideology defined by these partners, I would think twice about volunteering my time. But, so far, Jucee seems OK. Still, I'll keep my eyes open.
Look forward to meeting social activists! We'll see if I'm accepted.

I've been playing a game on the train lately. It passes the time. Pick someone and try to visualize them with black hair. Guys are easier, start with them then work your way up to women.
