Domo Chat

Priceless Information

This is Ian's piece of web. See it go. Go, weblog, go! Go travel in Asia. Go study in Tokyo. Go home to Portland. Nah, what the hell. Go, study in Beijing.

Stop. I am a student studying Chinese language in Beijing.

I started this weblog in the Summer of 2002. It keeps following me wherever I go. But, I'm glad to have the company.

Thanks to Clifton for hosting Domodomo. If you need a flash or website designer, you can do no better.

Domo Music - Music I done made. Shockingly presented under the artist name of "Domo Domo."

Meiji Karl

It caught me by surprise, first a clap of thunder from blue sky, and then the heavens parted and revealed unto me the Karlverse. Meiji Food's (the Nabsico of Japan) homespun front man Karl has his own little chunk of the internet. With such memorable activities as:

Rescue Meiji Flakes from Certain Doom
Memory Game with Kerosomething(unknown Kanji Character)
Rock-Paper-Scissors -- Poke Kerosomething in the eye
Shadow-Matching Game -- Tested my Limits
Karl's Krazy Korn Scramble -- Certainly the marriage of "corn" and "game" was ordained by fate
Karl to Go -- Access Karl from your mobile phone
Granted, I neither need nor want the products Karl and his cartoon buddies are hawking. But who am I to question the will of Karl?

In other news I have an interview with an English Conversation school today, though I fear their flakiness potential is quite high. They have an office in Ikebukero however, so at least they don't operate out of "some dude's house." More exciting is that I got a response from SPIEC, the Society for Promoting Intercultural Education for Children, regarding my interest in doing some volunteer work. I emailed five NGOs inquiring about volunteering and ONLY this one responded. To my delight SPIEC is the one I was most interested in anyway.
Postscript: Alan & Co, if you know where the videos of "Mix-Master Karl" are please e-mail me the link as I can't seem to find them.
