Yesterday was Midori no Hi, a national holiday. Midori no Hi means "Green Day" -- yes that's right, the Japanese are such big fans of the
punk rock band of the same name that they dedicated a holiday in their honor. On my way to a international student conference yesterday I was reminded of one fun thing about national holidays in Japan;
the Uyoku. I seriously get the shivers whenever I see these guys. When they drive by in their black vans blasting right-wing slogans you
KNOW it's time to respect the emperor.
