As a newbie myself, just wondering if the practice of measuring every resistor with my meter seems too ridiculous or more time consuming than memorizing the color codes. And after all, these components are plus-or-minus a certain percentage like 5 or whatever…

Hmm yea it does seem a bit of a hassle, I haven’t been doing it yet to be frank. But the old hands at this electronics whatnot say we should. I guess it’s just so you don’t pick the wrong resistor and really screw something up?
